Portuguese Association of Nutrition supports the spread of science
2018 is a remarkable year for the Portuguese Association of Nutrition, as well as was 2017. In fact, this is the first year in which the renewed institution – with a technical-scientific focus – presents the Food and Nutrition Congress along with the I International Congress of Food and Nutrition.
Given the Association’s current scope when it comes to promoting and developing the Food and Nutrition Sciences, this event intends to highlight science in a society filled with information. One of the paths to promote development, knowledge update, research and practical uses of the Nutrition Science is work submission for presentation in a Congress. Thanks to the oral and poster communications, previously undisclosed knowledge is shared among a larger community. Previously, it would be restricted to small circles, such as research centers, universities, healthcare centers, hospitals, city councils, industries and other organisms where the Nutrition and Food Sciences practitioners may be represented.
It is often known that authors find difficulties in sharing their works at scientific events due to financial concerns. Thus, the Portuguese Association of Nutrition established a 75% discount on the registration fee for the participants with accepted works for public presentation at the Congress. Through this grant, the Portuguese Association of Nutrition promotes scientific knowledge sharing – and ultimately, the enrichment of the Food and Nutrition Sciences.
1. The work must be accepted for presentation by the Congress’ Scientific Committee.
2. The author who will be presenting the work must be registered at the Food and Nutrition Congress.
3. The author who will be presenting the work has a 75% discount on the registration fee, regardless of the date of registration at the Food and Nutrition Congress. It is not extendable to the remaining authors of the work, whenever applicable.
